Galvanizing can be done before or after the wire mesh is manufactured-whether it is weaving or welding. Galvanizing first and then weaving the net or galvanizing first and then welding the net means that the single wire used to make the net itself has been galvanized before weaving or welding the net. Depending on the mesh (or opening size) and diameter wire, this is usually the cheaper option, especially if custom manufacturing is required.
Galvanizing after weaving is exactly the same as galvanizing after welded mesh. The material is usually made of carbon steel or ordinary steel, and is usually placed in a galvanizing tank to produce a galvanized specification after weaving or welding. Generally speaking, this option is more expensive, depending on availability and other variables, but it does provide a higher level of corrosion resistance. This increased level of corrosion resistance is most evident in galvanized joints or intersections of steel mesh specifications after welding.
